Our Shop

My husband and I run the shop together, I was brought up in Bedale (North Yorkshire), and I spent my childhood playing in the market place. As in those days we all lived above the shop. My parents and family have had businesses in Bedale for years and years, we can't agree on how long, just long.

Chocca is an idea we came up with whilst walking around Bedale late one night, we saw an empty property and knew it was the one, small, cosy and welcoming, the moment we looked inside we knew it had to be delicious handmade chocolates, traditional sweets and exciting present ideas.

The name of the shop was our last stumbling block, we just couldn't get the name right, until one day we out and about looking for exciting and wonderful things to sell in our shop when we got stuck in a terrible traffic jam, we both said together "the traffics chocca" and that was it.

We opened in August 2001 and in October 2007 we created our upstairs showroom and in the December 2007 we added the website, We hope you enjoy our website and if you're in the area please call in and say hello.
